Lavalounge.com taking orders... Email Article To a FriendView Printable Version

Lavalounge.com needed a powerful scaleable store that was supportable by someone who would answer the phone when questions needed to be asked. Not to bad mouth other store providers, but they dont have a handle on their product and cannot support smaller clients.

OS Commerce supports an integrated administrative area that allows the store owner to print shipping labels, invoice electronically and track inventory. It also allows for multiple sixe, color or style vairiations on a single item. This is significant in that it allows for multiple inventories on single items.

Sprague Group Gets Geeked! Email Article To a FriendView Printable Version

The newly redeveloped Sprague Group web site based on the original one developed by Josh and myself. Josh did a great job providing content for the previous site. But i thought something was missing and considering every time he needed things updated on the other site he had to write a check, Geeklog seemed like a great idea!

It took about 2 weeks to convert the site to Geeklog and everything a realtor needs to help his customers buy or sell a house is online here.

  • Message center - customers and Josh can communicate through the site.
  • various loan applications and inspection request forms
  • a comprehensive listing gallery
  • virtual tours (Josh shoots them himself)

I have worked with these guys for a while on the site and helping to organize the hardware for their trading desk. The site took a while to get completed, but that's OK as we actually launched 2 sites in the end. One is a Geeklog based site for Walter's Special Situation Investing newsletter and the other is plain old html for the advisory company site.</p>
What is geeklog and how can it help me? Email Article To a FriendView Printable Version

Geeklog is an Open Source Content Management System. Well what is that? Open Source is a movement started by programmers who believe in sharing their skills and their code. Content Management Systems are program based sites that allow users to update the content on the site with little or no HTML or other programming ability. Put the two together, you get Geeklog.

Sofas & Chairs of Minnesota have been my client for many years now and when they said they wanted their site to have more furniture, more function and more color, I knew that Geeklog was the software for them.

I integrated Gallery with Geeklog as well as several other plug-ins and modules - including the menu, random item and a virtual tour. The cool part is that they can now add furniture and edit text and descriptions themselves at any time!
